Our Programs

At CMA, the teachers helped us to achieve our goals through their commitment to educating the whole child. While academics are certainly very important, our educational philosophy here at CMA also focused on other essential elements: encouraging a child to be curious and to search out information, to be a good community member, and to socialize in a healthy way with both peers and adults. It’s education for life.

Montessori from Toddler through 6th Grade

With more than 40 years of success in Montessori education, CMA is one of the only Montessori schools in the Northwestern Cincinnati region to offer all of the following programs:

• Toddler (age 18 months – 3 years old), includes a 4 or 5 day option
• Pre-Primary (age 3 – Kindergarten)
• Lower Elementary (1st – 3rd Grade)
• Upper Elementary (4th – 6th Grade)

We have a longer instructional day — from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM — which works well for our students and families. Our students are exposed to more learning opportunities throughout the day, including music, art, foreign language study, healthy & wellness, outside play, and much more.

Extended Day Programs

CMA offers before and after school “Extended Day” programs (also known as Before and After Care) beginning at 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.

Our Environment

At Central Montessori Academy, our programs are about encouraging each child to learn, grow and be challenged as a unique and special individual. With small classroom groups led by Montessori certified teachers, your child will be able to develop and achieve mastery of a wide variety of academic subjects at his or her own pace.

Individualized Approach

• The Lower and Upper Elementary classrooms (1st – 6th grade) have one Montessori certified teacher to every fifteen students (1:12).

Special Services

In order to best serve children with differing learning styles and abilities, CMA has a full-time Intervention Specialist and Reading Speacilist, on site, and has engaged the services of additional specialists in Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. These specialists all hold degrees and professional certifications in their respective fields of study.

Integrated Curriculum

Central Montessori Academy offers children a world-class education, along with an education of the heart that nurtures their self-confidence, personal creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Instead of compartmentalizing information, Montessori schools teach subjects in relation to one another. Through extensive observation and record-keeping, the teacher plans individual projects to enable each child to learn what he needs in order to improve.

Beginning with toddler-aged children, and continuing through the 6th grade, our curriculum has been carefully prepared to support an authentic Montessori approach to learning. The multi-age classroom model ensures that children in the same level have the same teacher for three years. This model allows children to form strong bonds with their teachers, and provides teachers with a longer period of time to guide the individual child’s academic growth and development.

Faculty Excellence

Montessori teachers pursue specialized training above and beyond the requirements for traditional educators. They are trained to closely monitor students’ progress, keeping the level of challenge high. Teachers ask the right questions and lead the children to discover the answers for themselves. Learning then becomes its own reward and each success will fuel their desire to discover even more!
